(VRED.PK)
Fairfield, NJ - March 13, 2008 - VIYYA™ Technologies, Inc. (VELI) -announced that a successful test and activation of the VELI School Safety Management System for the elementary school of the 3000 student South Colonie Central School District in Albany, New York was conducted on March 11, 2008.
In its phased implementation plan, VELI staff, working with designated school administrators, will activate the planning and teaching modules scheduled for completion by the end of March. At the Tuesday event, the full SSMS solution was delivered for an extended audience of school and regional community college officials.
Under VELI'S holistic solution approach, the SSMS creates a "culture of preparedness" like no other application in the marketplace. Participants and other attendees at the event affirmed their satisfaction with the capabilities of the SSMS while indicating to school officials and VELI management that they were all in agreement the SSMS created a very controlled environment and that when supported by the effective use of planning, teaching, and training, provides for an unprecedented level of school safety against any unwanted crisis.
Participants in the program were Superintendent Michael Marcelle of South Colonie, Dave Seaver, South Colonie's HR Chief and designated SSMS portal administrator, members of the South Colonie IT staff, and the presidents and IT officials of other regional community colleges that represent nearly 20,000 students.
For this important step, the South Colonie superintendent had alerted parents that they would be receiving a test message from the SSMS for which an evening meeting had been set with the PTA to discuss the alerts system and other important capabilities of the SSMS platform.
On March 11th, at approximately 11:30 AM, the VELI product manager released an emergency alert "TEST" message to hundreds of registered parents and guardians. In less than two minutes, the first parent had contacted the school, unsolicited, to indicate that the alert had been received. Superintendent Marcelle stated, "I didn't ask anyone to call or contact us on receiving the alert. We planned for an evening meeting and discussion. However, we were delighted with the parent's instinctive reaction. The VELI system works."
Mr. Marcelle also identified to attending VELI management that throughout the day a number of other messages from pleased parents had been received expressing their approval of the system. At the evening PTA meeting, Mr. Marcelle reported that the new system was universally applauded and that parents were thrilled to hear that full system activation would occur to the benefit of the school district and their children before the end of March. VELI management at the day long event were encouraged with the response from attending high ranking grade school and community college officials who indicated that they would be immediately initiating action with their staffs to understand how to best arrange for use of SSMS for their school communities. VELI management expects several new SSMS approvals to be granted as a result of this very successful event at South Colonie.
