Virtual Ed Link, Inc aka VELI (VRED.PK) is a subsidiary of Viyya Technologies, Inc. which develops and markets Business Intelligence and Personal Knowledge Management software applications. Viirtual Ed Link, Inc. is licensed to market and sell the School Safety Management System (SSMS), which uses proprietary core technology solutions developed as Business Intelligence applications that manage day-to-day information by enabling users to automate and customize the way they collect, process, and distribute real-time data. The School Safety Management System is marketed and sold to schools and colleges around the U.S. and geared to be used as a collaborative Web 2.0 tool to share general information retrieved from any internet source among the school users, and especially, in the event of threats or danger, to disseminate alerts to help and guide students, parents, faculty and law enforcement in the actions necessary to help protect school attendees, and school infrastructure.
Company Background and Status
Virtual Ed Link Inc, was established on June 18, 2007 in response to the tragedy at Virginia Tech. The Executive Team, with an understanding of the power of the Viyya Information Portal, redesigned it, customized it, and geared its strengths to Planning, Teaching, Training, and, in an Emergency, instantly disseminating direction and guidance to the student, faculty, parent, and law enforcement populations that would need to respond for the safety and security of all.
An agreement was signed between Viyya Technologies Inc., and Atlantic Energy Services Inc., a company headquartered in Saratoga Springs, NY for the formation of Virtual Ed Link Inc. incorporating the Atlantic Energy Services management and sales team, the task force that had years of experience providing consulting services and solutions to schools in the K-12 range, therefore, having the knowledge of school environments the SSMS was designed to improve. In the days and months after the Virginia Tech incidents, school administrations across the country were actively searching for the help and solutions so sorely needed to help protect students.
VELI's mission is to provide school officials with a comprehensive school safety and management solution for communications before, during and after a school or campus emergency, and the improved management of daily events.
The Executive Team knows that the Internet and its associated technologies are going through a massive change into the interactive and collaborative era of Web 2.0. In preparation, the SSMS has been re-architected with technology components to meet the standards required in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) for flexibility and scalability on any web based platform. The search, retrieval, archiving, and dissemination of data, through the powerful core technology, is the basis for the SSMS systems ability to gather, sort, and distribute knowledge and data to make more efficient day-to-day school communication management, and to help prevent and, ultimately, to manage threats, and help guide populations to safety.
